Seller: griffdogboy (1,800) 100%, Location: Lunenburg, Vermont, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 302455289776 Over the next week or so I'll be listing a wonderful collection of early 1800s and 1900s antique home, barn and cabinet hardware. This collection was amassed over the last 30 years by a gentleman who has a love for early iron hardware and who used these pieces in restoration projects he was involved with. As he's gotten older he's decided that he'll be doing a very restoration projects so he's decided to part with his collection. There are hundreds of pieces in the entire collection and this first edition I'm listing consists of about 75 pieces. If you collect early hardware or are involved in a restoration project, this is a great opportunity to purchase some historically significant pieces of hand forged of the period items. I will try to post measurements as close to exact as possible to help you decided whether the piece will work in your restoration project. This auction is for an Early Antique Hand Forged Iron Door Handle With Thumb Latch with Spade Style Plates that attach to the wood. Likely late 1700s/early 1800s. It measures approx. 11.75 " long x 3 5/8th" at the widest part. Please review the photos as they are the best assessment of condition. This is a great example of an very early spade-style door handle. Condition is quite good with some loss to the thumb piece of the latch and a slight separation of the iron on the top edge of one of the spade plates (does not at all detract). Rust here and there. Very primitive and great for your early home or barn. Thanks for checking out this listing and don't hesitate to ask questions. Always happy to combine shipping for multiple lot purchases.
