It has naturally aged wood color and naturally dry, matte wood surfaces. The looped, cleated ash handle is entirely intact and seats firmly into the basket's woven sidewalls. The body doesn't suffer from any noticeable loss, breaks or unsightly deformities.  Simply gorgeous with nearly immaculate, pristine, hand carved, fixed black ash handle, hand woven sidewalls and concave base. There are no noticeable breaks or loss anywhere on the woven sidewalls or base. Only some slight, naturally occurring discoloration is present and mars this otherwise, nearly museum quality basket from being in near perfect, almost impossibly well-preserved overall antique condition. Tops shelf. Estate fresh and new to the marketplace. Found in an early southern New Hampshire farmhouse, located northwest of Nashua, NH. Magnificent. Very fine.
