Style Aesthetic movement. Maker Mintons China Works. Date 1894. Size 6" x 6 " A fabulous & Rare Aesthetic Movement Tile with a deep orange transfer print. Very cleverly designed with the foliage placed in just the right places to make this continuous pattern. It came out of a Victorian fireplace many years ago. It has two surface chip's to the glaze near the top right edge and a small amount of ware on the top right corner a scratch near the bottom right edge and a couple of small ones in the top left corner. It has some crazing in the glaze which you often find on tiles of the age. It has embossed on the back Mintons China Works Stoke on Trent and well known Mintons stamp in the bottom corner. Aslo printed is the registration number 2359 this is the number for when the design was first registered in 1894. Its fabulous design to add to any collection. I have another one listed in similar condition. Please check the photos carefully as this forms part of the description.
