Seller: pennantique (3,629) 100%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 263259003391 Penn Antique Restoration Antique Eastlake Bronze Entry Door Set w/Knobs, Plates, Lock, & Keys Stunning, antique, entry door lockset made by, "Sargent & Co." of New Haven, CT during the 1880's. The set includes 2 bronze knobs, 1 bronze escutcheon w/swinging keyhole cover, 1 bronze rosette, 1 bronze keyhole cover, 1 bronze thumbturn, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate and 2 working keys, 1 iron strike plate, and a spindle with 2 set screws. All bronze parts are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not stamped, pressed, wrought bronze or plated iron. The parts feature the gorgeous, Eastlake (or Aesthetic) style, "Arcadia" pattern. The set was salvaged from an old, Victorian home in Central Connecticut. We found the parts unpainted, and with a beautiful, original patina. All parts have the typical nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on 100+ year old hardware, but there are no breaks, cracks, chips, gouges, or dents. The finely-casted details are still sharp and vivid. The lock was opened, inspected, and we sprayed grease on and around all parts to facilitate their movement. We made a key to operate the lock and could make more for a charge of $10/key--email us after the auction if you are interested. The set is strong and ready for another lifetime of service!
