A beautiful’ exceedingly rare brass chocolate pitcher from the Philippines, where I bought it in1965.These hardly ever come to auction and then seen almost exclusively on Philippine sites.Originally brought to the Philippines with Spanish colonists, ithese brass pitchers have a special use ifor maling a particular Philippine chocolate drink, a Chokolatera, used with a particular wooden stick called a batirol for stirring.These days prized as an heirloom. Current ones are made from simple metals or other materials.Weighs 1.7 lbs and measures 6 1/4 inches and holds 2 1/2 cups. Beautiful patina.
