Seller: grandmuddy3344 (8,754) 100%, Location: Lincoln, Nebraska, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 263265739622 This specimen is from the Chinle formation in northeastern Arizona, an area famous for its varied and brilliantly colored petrified wood. It dates back to the Triassic era and is of the extinct species of tree, araucarioxylon Arizonicum. The different colors are due to the different minerals present during the petrification process. This piece has some color, some bark, and some sun-fade....enjoy it in your garden. It weighs about 1 lb. 2 1/4 oz., and measures about 4 1/4" x 2" x 2" , very roughly. It was photographed both wet and dry, and photos 1 & 2 show the wet/dry comparison. I am happy to combine items to save you money on shipping, should you win more than one auction.
