It dates back to the Triassic era and is of the extinct species of tree, araucarioxylon Arizonicum. The different colors are due to the different minerals present during the petrification process. This stand-up piece has great red color and shows some annular rings, a good garden stone. It weighs about 29 lb. 10 oz., and measures about 8" x 8" x 7" , very roughly. It was photographed both wet and dry, and photos 1 & 2 show the wet/dry comparison.
