Very Fine Burma Burmese Gilt Lacquer with remnants of red pigment Shan Life size Head of the Buddha ca. first Half 19th century. The Buddha is beautifully rendered with serene face , semi closed inlaid eyes it is a very beautiful example of the Shan art of Burma. The head measures 9 X 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches without base missing Unisha with surface age wear as expected overall good condition as seen in the images. From an old Virginia collection acquired in the 1960-1970's.
