Antique Glass Door Knob Lockset Skeleton Key Mortise Backplate . Specializing in Vintage and Antique Architectural Salvage~ * ~ ~ CUSTOMIZABLE! Antique Glass Door Knob Lockset ~- Many Sets Available! -This listing is for a Customizable Antique Glass Door Knob Lockset, or any parts that comprise a standard set. I've been selling these for years and I get a lot of people who want a complete lockset, and a lot of people who just want a specific part or parts. For that reason, I've made this listing which allows you to purchase any part that compromises a standard antique lockset. Here's how it works. You tell me what you want, and make an offer. I can sell anything from a single knob to a locking mortise with a working skeleton key. I can offer a variety of different backplates, rosettes or escutcheons, key hole covers etc. in either chrome or brass that will work with the knobs. If you need a particular part or part with specific measurements, I'll need you to send a picture or exact dimensions. Keep in mind, the patina of the brass or chrome finish may not exactly match the part you have, but it will be close and sometimes when restoring an old home you have to make some small concessions. These have been refurbished, including paint removal, set screw and spindle replacement when necessary, and a light polishing. The backplates have an oil rubbed finish that gives them a nice sheen and will help preserve them for years to come. The backplates are large, measuring around 7-1/4 inches tall and 2-3/8 inches wide. This comes in handy when you're remodeling and you need them to cover an existing area. Again, I have many different antique backplates available, so just let me know if you want a particular style. The glass knobs are in overall good condition. The glass is clear and tight on the collar. All the set screws work, and the knobs are easily removed from the spindle. These are antique so there is some wear including scratches, very small chips, and wear to the silvering at the base of some of the glass knobs, but overall they are in excellent condition. The size of the knobs varies slightly due to manufacturing, but they are around 2-1/4 inches in diameter, so these are large glass knobs. These are made in the early 1900's, and are higher quality than those that came later! The mortise can be opened and the latch rotated so that they will work for right or left hand doors. If you want me to rotate it, just let me know if you have a right or left hand door. Also the mortise in the picture has a 2-3/8" backset (distance from the edge of the mortise faceplate to the center opening where the spindle goes through, google "door backset" it if you want a diagram). A lot of antique mortises have a 2-1/2" backset, so message me shortly after your purchase and let me know which backset you would like. I have many of these available, so the picture may not show the exact set you will receive, but it will be similar with only minor differences in wear and patina. See the last picture for an image of some of the backplates. Some have more of the original brass plated finish than others. I do my best to match them when multiples are purchased. If you're looking to purchase more than one, the mortise locks may not all match, nor will the keys. Let me know if you need a particular size and I will accomodate you as best I can.
