BIG SAHARA NEOLITHIC QUARTZ BEAD. This prehistoric bead is almost 2" in diameter (47 - 48 mm) and .75" thick. It is made of quartz and is in very good condition with minimal ancient damage. If you look carefully at the hole you will see that it is conical in shape, an indication of its form of manufacture and ancient age. NOTE: these are not "type" photos, this is the actual bead you will receive. Imagine the time it took to make this beauty by hand several thousand years ago. It was found in the Northern Sahara Desert of Africa and is from the Neolithic Era (New Stone Age) which dates back 3,500 - 6,000 years ago or more. This is a fine prehistoric collectible artifacts .
