Romano-Celtic, circa 100-200 AD
Masterful ancient bronze Roman military fitting displaying purely Celtic shapes of the trumpet and cornucopia in openwork. The reverse is flat and originally had two riveted studs, one remaining.
Nice dark patina with a few spots of light green pitting. Overall stable and sturdy.
Very elegant and classically Celtic style which was absorbed into Romano-British fashion in the century of military occupation following Claudius invasion of Britain in 43 AD and largely completely by the mid-80's AD.
