***GREAT FOR FATHERS DAY*** Up for your consideration is a magnificent Museum Quality Reproduction Sculpture/Statute Fragment of Saite period 26th Dynasty - Ankh-Khonsu. This marvelous item is made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone, and has been given a beautiful and well developed aged green patina. It is mounted on a removable, polished stand  4 3/8" X 4 3/8" ( 11 x 11 cm) with applied felt, and stands 11 3/4" (29.5 cm) in height. 

This replica statute fragment features the Saite period style of Egyptian sculpture, which aimed for crisp, fine details, and an almost sensuous modeling of the human form, known for the subtle 'Saite smile' which is present in this example.  The hair is smooth and very tactile, and the hieroglyphs on the back are neat and spaced in a way very typical of the era. The text begins to tell the titles and genealogy of Ankh-Khonshu who lived in the early years of dynasty 26 under the rule of Psamtik 1st. 

The original fragment is housed in the Boston Museum and has the identical jagged underside where it came away from it's base in ancient times. A dent can also be seen on the head that can likely determine where it hit the ground or more likely the stone temple floor. Miraculously, the nose did not get damaged as is so often the case with ancient statutes. A fortunate discovery in the Cairo Museum has identified the body that matches the distinctive jagged break of the head. This find has allowed for a greater understanding of the Art as it was conceived, and it was indeed a block statute with very fine feet protruding from the cloak he wore.

This wonderful Reproduction Statute Fragment is in excellent condition, would be a great addition to any collection of Ancient Egyptian Cultural Artifacts, and is being offered for only $135.00!
