Maker H & R Johnson Ltd. Technique: Embossed Majolica. Date 1905. Size 6" x 6" or 152mm x 152mm A fabulous stylised moulded tile with a well balanced design. I do like these single coloured tiles a design I have not seen before. Henry Richards produced a similar design with three flowers. This was one of the earliest Art Nouveau designs by Johnson. It's in very good condition with a tiny amount of ware on the left edge along with a couple of minute nibbles. There is some crazing in the glaze which is often found on tiles of this age. I have another one listed and four more in stock. It has a nice clean back with embossed H & R J and Reg no 466806 & pat and Pat no 466806 & pattern no 34. This would make a great addition to any collection. Please check the photos carefully as this forms part of the description.
