Very slightly wrinkled, toned, else fine.   Second   Edition   of the   libretto   of   Korngold's   most successful   Opera, inscribed and signed on the title page   ("...   E.   W.   Kgl .   Munich ,   26   I.   55   ")  to "Frau Staatsoper intendant Hildegard Hartmann" with  an autograph musical quotation from "Violanta,"  Korngold's second opera, written when he was seventeen years old. A rare signed libretto from the composer's great opera based on symbolist Georges Rodenbach’s phantasmagoric novel Bruges-la-morte. Composed by Korngold when he was just 23, its tremendous success heralded him as one of German opera's most promising talents.
