Seller: l.oppleman-staunton-outlet (600) 99.6%, Location: Staunton, Virginia, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 152310641876 DescriptionExcellent & Rare Pre Columbian Colima Human Effigy Vase Ancient Redware Pottery Up for sale is this early Pre-Columbian Colima Human Effigy Vase. This piece was part of a large group of early artifacts we acquired some time back. The early redware vase features a ribbed lower half, and six human faces encircling the upper portion. The piece is approximately 5" tall, 8 1/2" wide (widest point), and has a slightly ovoid shaped opening on it's top that is approximately 2 1/4" by 1 7/8". The vase is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks seen. We believe this piece is from Colima, a western Mexican state where most of the early pottery found dates between 300 B.C. and 800 A.D. Some believe the six headed human effigy design may be associated with the Aztec culture. During our research we found one other piece from that area that is almost identical to this piece. We are neither experts nor collectors, but we research each piece in a good faith effort to represent them as accurately as possible. We make no guarantees regarding authenticity or age. A wonderful addition to a primitive artifact collection, or for a early pottery collector. No. I-2372 PaymentEasily pay with PayPal. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express.
