FLORILLA 1842-1867 STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFERWARE CLOBBERING MULTI-COLORED PLATTER. WELCOME TO OUR YEARLY HOLIDAY SALE! For your consideration is this Florilla Staffordshire 5 color Transferware Platter. An early pattern called Florilla manufactured in the early years of the Staffordshire Transferware era when the Asian influence was prevalent, this platter was made 1842-1867. The base color in the transfer is purple with blue and pink accents around the edges. Burgandy, yellow and blue flowers with green leaves accentuate the center design which shows a Pagoda and a large Phoenix or Crane. There is hand painting involved or Clobbering, in the making of this platter. The platter measures 12 1/4" by 9 1/2". There is considerable crazing and a stress crack(shown in images) at the top of the platter which does not reach to the edges and is very old. There are no chips, nips ,or repairs. There is a pattern name which is barely visible on the back and a small incised mark (shown in images). An extremely old and rare addition for the most discerning collector. Platter will only be sent with insurance and signature required.
