Details
This is a repaired and restored, authentic KINKO Ryu shakuhachi instrument hand crafted in Japan in the 1960's. It is a standard 1.8 length (D pitch) shakuhachi in the intermediate/advanced level available in my TENSEI Line (rebirth/recycle) of fine Japanese crafted instruments. This JIARI style - fine-tuned-bore - instrument was made according to the high standards of the Japanese shakuhachi community for musicians who play and study shakuhachi music. It is perfect for classical and modern music. Or, open for Honkyoku zen music. It has one crack on the top section along the back that has been repaired in my low-impact approach to binding form the of instead of inlaid. It is guaranteed playable for another lifetime for the next owner. The bamboo is on the medium wide side with a shaved Kezerine style root decorated with urushi lacquer. It is a dense piece of bamboo. On the Japanese market place for professional shakuhachi, this one would fall in the $2400 price range. Please know that the standard shakuhachi length is 1.8 in D for lessons with a traditional teacher of music. Having served the international shakuhachi community by providing all aspects of professional shakuhachi work for over 20 years (flutes, repairs, workshops and performances), I and am proud to say I offer The Best Guarantee in the world. - aside from full servicing and support, the owner can upgrade the flute at anytime with full value applied towards the higher level instrument trade. I have found this to be the best service I can provide to anyone interested in continuous musical growth with a proper instrument. Read more FAQs on my website on the different types of shakuhachi instruments to learn what might be right for you. I welcome all questions. All my instruments are 100% guaranteed for any reason.
"...I've only seen two of Perry's Tensei flutes so far, but they certainly won't be the last I'll be getting for my students. Knowing Perry's penchant for perfection, I can comfortably give his flutes my highest recommendation."" -Dr Riley Lee, Shakuachi teacher Shihan (Master), 5/2012 |
