The cup is dating to the Meiji Period, ca 1868-1912AD. The cup is glazed at the inside and outside, with light brown glaze at the top side and dark brown at the bottom side. Dimensions are 8,1 x 5,2 cm. The weight is 130 gram. Completely intact. Karatsu-yaki is the pottery made in the Hizen area, Japan. Hizen area is current Saga Prefecture. Its origin is a late 16th cent. At that time, potters of Karatsu learned the technique from the Koreans. Therefore the mpany Karatsu techniques are similor the the Korean pottery.
