Item:202452244627P EXCEPTIONAL RARE AND VERY BEAUTIFULSOLID SILVER JAR VASE Description I present to your consideration this rare and very beautiful solid silver jar vase. The vase has a very beautiful rounded design. The body is almost like a ball with a small base. The lid has also a hall ball shape with two rounded stripes all around. The lid has burgundy enamel finishing except for the two stripes. The body has a very beautiful and peculiar engraved composition. This composition consists in two sets of three contour rectangles. They are placed one lower and the other almost in the top. They have their contour burgundy enameled. There are also two sets of two ibises. They are flying one lower and the other higher. The other set of ibises are flying in the other sense. They have their contour black enameled. The ibis is a bird commonly found in Egypt. In the Old Egypt the ibis was the object of religious veneration and associated with the god Thoth. Thoth is an Egyptian god, represented with ibis head; it’s the god of knowledge, wisdom, writing, music and magic. The jar has some small imperfections due to the age. Some engraved and enameled parts are a little vanished. There are a couple of very small dint very hardly perceptible. Nothing that blemished the beauty of this rare item (please see photos). Despite my efforts, I was not able to capture in the photos all the beauty of this item. The reflections that the silver makes have made the photos a little confusing. I am a little disappointed. The entire vase is very well made being particularly thick and solid. This jar is a typical Art Deco item. It is very rare to find those items and they are very collectable. This jar is great addition to any collection and great conversation item. Please see the photos that are part of the description.
