Item:183084523834Julien Friez & Sons Belfort Meteorological Antique Weather Instrument 1890's. This antique weather predictor from the 1890's is from my dad's estate. He was what you may refer to as a "picker" and this unique, and rare item was literally a barn find from several decades ago. We have finally decided to sell, and are offering it as is, as found and no returns and didn't even clean it, as we don't want to chance messing it up, so will leave that to the new owner. I have researched what little there is about this particular unit and it definitely appears there are some pieces missing, but that's about all I know other than what is visibly apparent. It is from the Victorian era and supposedly served as a weather station and recording device as well as barometer, nanometer, and it measured wind sun and rain. The wonders of electricity in the the Victorian era!...outlandish I am sure yet very cool. It did come with the glass top and I will include 4 of the remaining panes (note that most have chips and damage on the edges. The good news is the wood frame, though now disassembled is all there (no hinges) and ready to have panes reinstalled. There are some small chips and scratching on the wood pieces and of course everything needs to be cleaned. The artful graphics are still on the cast iron and it really exudes robust high quality.
