KLM Airlines offered these tile coasters exclusively for their Business Class passengers. There were four series, showing reproductions of authentic Dutch windmills, crafts, children's games and ships, each consisting of nine different designs.

The tiles were produced in Polychrome, a rare and difficult technique developed and perfected in Delft during the 17th century. These coasters were produced as part of promotion of Old-Dutch Handicraft.

This lot is a full set (which is HARD to find) of 9 tiles from the Crafts series. The tiles have fleabites and small chips on the corners due to storage conditions but there are no cracks or major chips, and no scratches on the surface. There is also minor deterioration to the felt on the backing on some tiles due to age. One tile has a factory defect on glaze, as pictured.

They measure approximately 3" x 3".
