Height: 17.5" , Width: 14" , Thickness: 3"-3.5"      (approx) Weight: 6 lb 14 oz This is an antique Chinese wooden carved corbel. In the ancient Chinese architecture of the Ming and Qing dynasty, a corbel is a wooden component between the column and beam, and it is attached to the eave pillar. Since it is in the best view of the person, it attracts attention, making it the focal point of carving in a building.  In the Ming and Qing dynasties, when the merchants became rich, they returned home to erect ancestral halls and build up estates. They hired skillful craftsmen to build and decorate the buildings to display their riches and honor. Condition: There are some small chips and hairline cracks consistent with age. There's a small piece of stone embedded in the lower part of the carving. Please refer to the photos. (ref # 1815, G1362) Thank you for visiting my store.
