MUSEUM QUALITY Vintage 1830s Heart Vine Applique Antique Quilt ~AMAZING TRAPUNTO   

This MAGNIFICENT cotton 1830's heart/vine quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with a sawtooth border, 18" cutouts in two corners for a poster bed, and wonderful trapunto quilting.   

It measures a generous 92" X 92" and is in very good condition, with the occasional age stain and popping (premature deterioration in the print due to the black ink used) in the red only. The quilt overall, including the white, blues, and binding, feels strong and sturdy.     

The quilting is UNBELIEVABLE, with amazing grape and detailed leaf trapuntoed (stuffed quilting) designs throughout, all on a close straight line background at 9 stitches to the inch.   

The back and hand stitched binding are white, and the batting is thin (except where there is trapunto work).        

The GORGEOUS, VERY EARLY FABRICS, UNUSUAL DESIGN, and DAZZLING TRAPUNTO WORK make this 19th century COLLECTOR'S QUILT stand out -- TRULY MUSEUM QUALITY!
