Seller: *shelley (7,659) 100%, Location: Seattle, Washington, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 360608548410 Condition: Incredible condition for it's age. One of the deer head does not have the tall antlers whether by design or broken off in it's lifetime., Material: Nickel, Details: Ancient Vessel 3 antelope heads with antlers around a bowl shaped vessel standing on 3 legs It is really old and cool Incredible decoration It measures 5.5" tall and about 3" diameter I really don't know what I have here Maybe nothing, but I think it is something I purchased this item years and years ago at a garage sale in Yuma, AZ I was told that it was found in the Mexico Desert south and east of Algadonas I bought it because I just simply thought it was really really cool. I have too much really cool stuff and have spent 50 years collecting it and spending all of my money on it and now I need to get some of it back About this item: I have gone over this thing a million times. I have showed it to a LOT of people, I've even looked under a microscope.. It is made of metal... the color of nickel What is most interesting to me, is that if you look under the chins of the deer, there is a triangle piece of the metal that is not there... underneath the metal is some sort of pottery that looks like terra cotta. So, what I believe is that the whole thing was made of pottery, and the metal was applied over the top of it. Well, let me re-phrase.. that is what I used to think until I started looking at it again. It dings like metal.. The vessel part is too thin to be pottery. You can see terra cotta looking stuff under the chins and in the mouth of the deer. On one of the deer chins, I just noticed, the terra cotta stuff is partially missing and it is metal underneath. So now I'm thinking the terra cotta substance was used as decoration So, I am listing this on ebay for fun. For some reason I love this old relic I have. I'm hoping he is worth a million dollars, so I can get medical and some bills paid. But if not, I hope he's worth something.... If not, I'll just keep him, maybe get it tested somewhere.. If any of you experts out there can tell me anything about it, I would appreciate it! Please look at all of the photos as they are part of the description.
