I AM NOT SELLING A MODEL OR KIT. Only new, full-size copies of the kit PLANS to scratch-build a NAVION SUPER 260 for yourself.
THE MODEL SHOWN BELONGS TO TERRY CONLEY WHO WAS KIND ENOUGH TO SHARE WITH US THESE GREAT PICTURES OF HIS MARVELOUS NAVION 260 RC MODEL HE ENTERED AT TOLEDO. HIS MAGNIFICENT MODEL IS NOT FOR SALE. (I got an email & picture from the fella who did buy Terry's model for display in his hangar!)
Terry Conley did such a tremendous job on his super scale NAVION SUPER 260 RC that it won at the annual Toledo Show. The model has a 68" wing span and would use at least a .45 engine. These plan sheets that he sent me are in pristine condition, as are the copies I have made of them for your enjoyment.
Many of the parts patterns are on the plans, such as fuselage formers (bulkheads). But the wing ribs are not shown other than the root rib. So I include a vintage Handy Hint illustration sheet that shows how old timers used to scratch build ribs. Make a plywood or aluminum pattern of the root and the tip ribs. Stack enough sheets of balsa in between them for the number of ribs needed. Finally, sand away to remove the excess balsa. This method works for either identical or for tapered wing ribs.
I ALSO INCLUDE A SCALE DOCUMENTATION SHEET.
The silver painted NAVION is on a pedestal outside the U.S. Army Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker, AL. Pop was there in 2007 to see all of the planes he used to fly as a Senior Army Aviator. He’s so old the 26 different ones he flew can only be found hanging way, way up in the ceiling!
I AM NOT SELLING A KIT , only new, full-size copies of the two PLANS sheets plus a scale documentation sheet and for the NAVION SUPER 260 folded in a manila envelope.
