Item:274318985072Nestor Hippoyle Fruge was a self-trained American artist from Louisiana who has become a beloved and collected artist.Born in Bayou LaFourche, Louisiana in 1914 he lived a full life able to complete many exhibitions and pieces during his near 100 year life. He painted many scenes of New York, Paris, Mexico, and his most beloved New Orleans. He was first being recognized for his works during the 1930's as a young 20 something year old all the way to his death. Fruge Operated the Academy of Art, New Orleans from 1949-1952. Since then has traveled and exhibited principally in Europe and Mexico with frequent periodic sojourns in New Orleans. Beautiful New Orleans scene.
