The heart was a particularly important amulet in ancient Egypt, symbolic of preservation into the next world. Plenty of texts have survived to give us an insight into the magical spells used to preserve it in the Book of the Dead (see here). This example being made from granite has certainly preserved this heart for many thousands of years!
