The antefix is a typical architectural element, frequently used in the Greek neoclassical architecture between 1860-1910. This Antefix is representing Hermes and it has been made in Athens at 1890. The representation of Hermes face can also be seen from the wings that he has above his head. Hermes among the others was the God of trade and because of this the merchandisers were using this type of antefix to decorate their houses.
