Seller: msaco (3,893) 100%, Location: Flagstaff, Arizona, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 263813936140 This is an original U.S. Army / U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) zippered canvas carrying case for the U.S. Cal. .30 M1 carbine, dated 1944, in excellent, lightly used condition. The case is made of a heavy duty OD canvas, stitched with khaki thread. The case measures about 39 inches long and 9 inches wide. It has a sling or carrying strap on one side, this is OD webbing similar in construction to an M1 carbine sling. The strap has black steel hardware, typical of 1944 field gear. The top half of the case has a heavy duty white steel zipper, the zipper pull is light OD webbing. Leather tabs reinforce each end of the zipper. The case is stamped "U.S." on one side. Inside is stamped the manufactuer's name and date, this is "ATLAS 1944." The end of the case, where the muzzle end of the carbine fits, is reinforced with a double thickness of canvas. There is a reinforcing piece of canvas on one side of the case, another reinforcing tab also is sewn where the carrying strap is stitched. *********** The carbine carrying case is in excellent, lightly used condition. It is clean and the canvas is stiff with good color (just slightly faded over the years), I don't think it was ever washed. The case has never been modified or repaired, it is as it came from the factory. The zipper is in fine shape, fully functional. Leather tabs are in nice condition, still flexible. There is one very small slit-like tear on one side of the wide end of the case, this is about 1/2 inch, you can see this in the fourth photo at lower right. Carrying strap tightly stitched, there is no loose stitching anywhere. Black metal hardware in fine shape, with nearly all black finish. No grease spots, no rust, no problems, just lightly used and in excellent condition overall. A fine example from a relatively scarce maker. Atlas also made M1 Garand rifle slings in 1944, and I have seen a few ammunition pouches by this maker as well. ********** I can ship worldwide. Buyer pays actual shipping costs only. I am happy to combine multiple items into a single parcel to save on shipping costs. Condition: Used, Condition: Excellent, lightly used condition.
