Up for sale is an Original WW1 WW2 U.S. 48 Star Flag Banner size Medium. The flag is stitched to a wooden rod painted gold that measures approx. 18 inches across. The flag itself measures approx. 22.75 long, and 14.875 inches wide. It's made of a thick coarse weave that feels like a cotton-type of material. Tied on either end of the rod is a golden thread with tassels on either end. This is used for actual hanging on the vertical flag banner. Overall a great piece to use for a WW1 or WW2 era display in your private collection. It's small enough that it doesn't take up an entire wall but also large enough to serve as a great back drop. The ease of hangability is also a fantastic quality to it as well. More than likely this a WW2-era object, given how well preserved it is. The "actual" WW1-Era 48-star examples tend to be far more damaged and have significantly worse condition issues, but again, there are exceptions to this standard. So this piece could very well be a WW1-era example that fits that exception. But it is of our opinion that this piece dates from WW2. However it would still work wonderfully with a WW1-era US Military Display as well. Overall this item is in excellent condition; exhibiting only minor wear and some natural aging.
