Two stunningly beautiful KENSINGTON ART NOUVEAU MAJOLICA CERAMIC TILES:Sought after for it's rarity and scarcity because these tiles were only produced between 1885 and 1895. Fired in a warm moss green gloss glaze, translucence born out of the process to give it depth with raised relief. It also has an irridescent finish, almost metalic. I don't know if this is due to the age of the glaze or was done intentionally. 6 x 6 inches. The glaze is crackled which is typical of the tiles of this era. Back is embossed with the large Kensington logo.
