Sign UpAntique Parian Bisque Porcelain Figural Children Bust Statues After Houdon Pair
Pair of Antique reproduction porcelain bust statues after Jean Antoine-Houdon, unmarked, from an unknown producer, c.1910, likely French origins. The two figural busts depict the young children of one Alexandre Theodore Brongniart, Louise and Alexandre, and are finished in a bisque white composition. High gloss white bottom platform bases. Hand written blue numbering is vaguely seen on the bottom of the bust, seen through the tiny hole on the base.
Each piece measures approximately 9 3/4" High x 5" Wide x 3" Deep. Base is 3 3/8" in Diameter.
Good to very good. The bust of Louise is mostly scathe free with only a few rough spots and nicks to the bottom base's under-rim. The second bust was repaired at the neck (pictures 5-6) and three small nicks on the bottom of the base were re-filled with porcelain material and remain un-glazed(picture 7, left side). Strong white color, without yellowing, to both heads. No dark speckle wear. Both items rest flat.
