RARE NILOAK Arts & Crafts Art Pottery Mission Swirl Squat Vase/Bottle Oil Lamp

Here is a quite rare piece of Arkansas Niloak pottery from the Mission Ware Swirl line in the early 1900's. I found this item with the oil wick that is shown in it, but you can see that the stopper is glazed and the clay is not mission swirl and from another piece of pottery although it could be from the period. I do not know if this piece is originally actually an oil lamp and was missing it's original wick piece or maybe even a small bottle container missing it's stopper or if it is a short squatty shaped vase. It's colors are mostly light blue with swirls of creamy tan and earthy brown. It measures close to 6" wide and close to 3 1/4" tall. It has an impressed "NILOAK" mark. You almost need a magnifier to see the mark as it got stamped lightly but I do believe it is the First Art Mark by the appearance of the "N" as the ends look closed in as well as the bottom of the "L" is a flat line and not open or like an outline is it looks in the Second Art Mark when I looked up the difference in photos. There are a few marks on the outside and a small stain area on the side and a little rubbing on the inside of opening. There is a little waxy reside around the rim that needs to finish being cleaned off. I don't see any noticeable nicks, chips or cracks. A great piece for the collector of this pottery and a very nice décor piece.
