The settlers in the Piura region were known for their work in ceramic and gold. This superb original Pre-Columbian vessel is in the shape of and animal with a hollow circular body, the head and tail are both spouts that function as a whistle or musical instrument. It is made of polished red pottery with geometric designs in cream, black and using a negative technique. It measures 8 ½" high, 8" wide and is complete § it has repairs in several locations.
