Archimede Seguso (Murano, 17 December 1909 - Murano, 6 September 1999) was an Italian entrepreneur and master glassmaker. Archimede Seguso was one of the most famous Venetian glassmakers, distinguishing itself in the processing of heavy glass. He immediately started working as a teacher at the age of 17 in the furnace where his father was a partner that in 1933 was transformed from Soffieria Barovier Seguso & Ferro into Seguso Vetri d'Arte, a company that marks the development of glass in the following decades. he collaborated with significant importance as artistic director the artist Flavio Poli. These collaborations ceased in 1946 when Archimede Seguso founded the Archimede Seguso Artistic Glassworks. Here he managed to range by reusing ancient blowing techniques such as the famous "Filigrane" called "Piuma" and "Merletto" as well as experimenting and creating in the second half of the twentieth century glasses of character with superimposed colors and strong color contrasts in the "Sommerso" technique ".
