Petitot & Verreries des Bagneaux
A pair of double art deco wall sconces made in France in the mid 30s. Nickel plated bronze or solid brass mounts hold shades in clear frosted molded-pressed glass, made by Verreries de Bagneaux. The frames were made by the large factory of Petitot. Traces of a Petitot signature can be found on the arms of the mounts.
Both shades are signed SEVBA on the inside near the hole for the socket. The wall lamps are in excellent condition. I have re-nickeled the mountings. The fixtures are rewired with American candelabra base sockets. For European countries I will place E14 ones. The wall lights are 11 inches (28 cm) high and 11 inches wide. They are 17 cm deep (6,69").

SEVB is short for "Société d'Exploitation des Verreries de Bagneaux ". A relatively small glass factory from the 20s in the village of Bagneaux a little south of Paris. Mid 30s, after the death of Leopold Appert in 1931, Sevb merged with Appert frères and became the Société d'exploitation des verreries de Bagneaux et Appert frères réunies . That is why the A was added to the signature SEVBA.
