Archaeological finding. XIV-th or early XV-th century AD.Up for sale is a very rare and absolutely GENUINE glazed pottery fragment found near the chancel of the Temple of Jupiter Dolichenus in Balaklava, near Sebastopol. This pottery fragment was found in a horison dated back to the XIV or early XV Century AD. It's a very rare late Greek or Italian artifact with a precisely known provenance! This is a rare piece of a medieval eastern European art! This pottery fragment demonstrates strong Islamic cultural influence showing eastern floral patterns and characteristic curved lines! However, it was made BEFORE the Crimean Khanate! This fragment is far from being complete, however, it has a very beautiful coloration survived from the XIV century! Nice piece of a Medieval artwork! This piece is ABSOLUTELY genuine and it is heavily patinated with time. Looks really cool and old in hands. This pictures hardly do its justice. Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!
