White Oak Pottery began as a small studio pottery located in Oakville, Ontario Canada, owned by Ottelie Book. The studio name & pottery business was purchased by her daughter Sharon Secord and her husband John and in the early 1970s they began to design and produce Art Pottery items from their farm property in Acton Ontario. They supplied many Canadian businesses with their wares including Molsons/Labatts, The Canadian Brewing Co, The Bay (dept store), Bowrings, Birks, Eatons, Simpsons, Sears, the Worlds Fair Japan (1970) as well as many others. Some Canadians may remember drinking their coffee from White Oak Pottery mugs in their favourite local diners! They expanded into the USA and continued production into the early 1980s at which time they decided to focus on producing and selling molds for making pottery and changed the company name to John Secord's Masterline Molds. They are now semi-retired. Since their production really only spanned a decade, White Oak Pottery items are scarce to find.
