THE STRIPS ARE THE CORRECT DENSITY AND FIT FOR PURPOSE - We tested three weights before putting them on ebay over two years since.

The thicker sponge prevented the needles from selecting correctly.

The light weight  soft grey sponge worked at first but needed changing very quickly ( a sponge strip you would expect to last twelve months unless you are using a Garter Carriage continually on a daily basis ). Always remove the sponge bar if you are not going to be using the machine for a month or so.

The final sponge we tested was completely satisfactory in all respects and  is the one we use on all the machines we sell . My sponge has now been in my kh950i for just over a year and the machine is still knitting  absolutely fine. As yet there is no sign of needing a new sponge bar.

THE SPONGE STRIPS ARE THE CORRECT WIDTH FOR THE METAL STRIP - Just as when you buy a new sponge bar -  the foam is the same width as the metal bar. The sponge is doing the job intended when it is in the machine rather than needing to flatten out and fill the bar. A strip that is too narrow may degrade quicker than one that fits correctly.

SUITABLE FOR BOTH STANDARD AND CHUNKY GAUGE MACHINES - Will need to be cut to length. These sponge strips are produced just for this purpose and are made long enough to be suitable for both standard and chunky gauge knitting machines. They are not just something made for other purposes that can be cut from a roll so please do not request longer lengths.

PACKAGING You will receive two individual packets each containing - 1 Self adhesive sponge strip, 1 iron on protective tape and 1 instruction sheet. This will do two single bed machines or one double bed machine where the ribber bed uses a sponge in the retainer  bar. If one is not used immediately the other will stay flat, untwisted and undamaged until needed. It will come out of the packet as new. It also means that they are good for sharing with a fellow knitter.
