About the chevron bead (making and history), you can read the pages dedicated in "Ercole Moretti. Un secolo di perle veneziane e di prestigiosi manufatti in vetro", by Gianni Moretti, that is on our list of articles for sale. There is also a really interesting and exhaustive article (written also in english), by Gianni Moretti for the "Rivista della Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro", first issue of 2005. Furthermore don't forget the classics "Collectible Beads", by R. K. Liu, "The History of Beads", by L. S. Dubin, "Chevron and Nueva Cadiz Beads", by John and Ruth Picard. Size: diameter: from 18mm. up to 28mm. length: from 23mm. up to 39mm. Length of the string: 25,2cm. All the beads have wearing signs commensurate to the age and to the intense and really long use. The most worn of them present surface signs known in ancient oriental stone beads (like gZi beads ) as "naga skin", that is almost impossible to reproduce artificially. The eye of a real expert will always recognize those signs.
