Turritella Agate was formed around 50 million years ago It formed with the freshwater Snail named Elima Tenera died and its shell sank to the bottom of the lake. Over time layers of sediment and snail shells were buried. Eventually, the layers were silicified, turning it into a fossil and giving us the Turritella Agate that we see today.
