Item:152435876677Tintype of a young Man 1860's Union Case pressed Leather NICE 2 1/2" x 3"NICE. Purchased by myself as a photographic resale item because it was a Useable Item: Young Woman in a fashion dress of the age. Mounted in a 1860's early wood & leather Union case hinged, case with slide lock, Hinge Info from eBayer: The first miniature cases were wood, covered with embossed leather. To save cost, leatherette was used, and also flocked paper pads versus silk velvet. Union cases were patented in 1854, and became obsolete by 1870, about the same time wood and other constructions became obsolete. From the style of the brass frame's gusseted corners, plus the flocked paper pad, and the lady's fashions, I think you are correct to date this late 1860's, early 1870's. MECHANICALLY: The fabric binding is torn in half, otherwise perfect condition for its age! 1860's -1870's ? O PTICALLY: Really attractive image of a young woman, looks like hint of blush in cheeks, eyes appear to be light type Blue, hey its a B&W tintype. USE: Collector Tintype terrific condition for its age Feedback UPDATE: I leave professional positive feedback only and work out any and all problems if they happen.please contact me if problems in shipping or content occurs, first by asking a Question! . In 35mm , it has too be economically feasible before I will rebuild these days as many 35mm cameras are not practible to repair as they sell for little money on Ebay.
