This Triner Postal Scale is an early model. It measures items up to 1 pound in weight - about 9 1/2" long x 4 3/4" tall x 4 1/4" wide. It is made from light pressed / formed metal painted an original black over a red primer that shows through in various wear areas - balance and weight are brass - has (state of California dept. of agriculture - bureau of weights and measures) sticker signed and dated 5/2/1957 to certify scale (not date of creation).  Also has E. L. SOISTER CO. SALES AND SERVICE STICKER. Triner made a variety of these type scales as early as around 1920. Some measured to 9 ounces, 1 pound, 2 pounds and 4 pounds. Some like this version had an area for holding a paper postage calculating chart.  In later models this area evolved into a picture frame arrangement so updates to postal charges could be made by sliding in a new paper chart held in the frame. The scale measures 10 inches long by 4 inches wide and 5 inches tall, and weighs around 4 pounds. Please check the photos for overall condition.
