Seller: backintime! (724) 100%, Location: Sparta, New Jersey, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 162269802427 Condition: Needs to be rewired, Color: Black Metal, Material: Porcelain/Metal, Maker: Sonsco Japan, Details: Awesome Mid Century Sonsco Japan wall lamp/light fixture The fixture is done in black metal that has a hole to hook into a nail or screw into the wall. Attached underneath, is a fabulous porcelain Sonsco square raised picture/figurine of a duck surrounded by branches. What an amazing piece! Imagine it with a light bulb and pretty shade over it !!! There is a little curved metal piece that is just behind the porcelain square so that it does not sit directly up against the wall, but has a small bit of breathing room. Please see pics. This piece needs to be rewired, or at least a new plug. I am not an expert in any way on electrical items, but I know that you should not plug this in the way it is. As you can see, the plug is ancient. I would not dare to plug it into the wall. Please do not try. The light does click back and forth, or on and off easily enough. If the plug was better, I would have put a bulb in to try it out. The porcelain square with duck is in excellent condition, with no chips, or cracks. It must have been sitting on the same wall since the l940's. The total fixture is 9 1/2 " long. The light comes out 5 inches from the wall. The porcelain piece is about 5 1/4" X 4 1/4 ". It has a long wire with plug , but the plug is all corroded , as you can see. Small amount of rust on the black painted metal in the front. Some white marks, probably paint. The entire piece looks great for it's age, but I think it was probably on the wall unplugged for a VERY long time, and the plug itself just came in contact with dampness over the years and corroded up. Please consult your electrician or electrical expert. Any questions, PLEASE ask, thanks!
