Victorian 3x Eastlake Swing Arm/Folding WALL HOOKS vtg cast iron steel vtg fancy. Welcome! I pay the shipping charges on this within the USA. Description - Rare and unusual - genuine antique, set of THREE (3), fancy decorated, light duty, wall double hooks that FOLD BACK, or “swing arm”, against the wall (in either direction) - meant for use in tight locations, like hallways or entryways, or perhaps, where they may only be needed occasionally. All parts attract a magnet Hooks are either cast iron or cast steel. I suspect steel because they are very smooth. Hooks have an original coating of (partially worn), bronze-y coating. They have fancy, deep, Aesthetic movement or Eastlake style, well-cast designs along both sides of the hooks. The back plates are high relief, also quite fancy, but in high relief, stamped steel in almost a fleur de lis shape, with a subtle highlighting of brass or gilt. There is wear to this highlighting, patina as can be expected for age — please enlarge all photos to assess. I suggest add a small rectangle of thin wood or cardboard inside each backing plate, during wall mounting, to keep the swing arms from abrading the wall or surface, and further support the hooks when items are hung on them. I purchased these from Ed Donaldson, of PA, who was well-known for finding some amazing antique hardware ( in business for over 45 years, and now retired.) Two mounting holes on each backing plate No screws included, sorry See ruler in pics… Height of back plate - 2-7/8” Width of back plate - 1-3/4” Height of hook at highest to lowest point - about 4” Projection - when mounted they project 4-3/8” from the wall surface No makers marks Set of three weighs 8.25 ounces, on my scale, before packing.
