A beautiful Victorian carriage blanket w/a dramatic, vivid pattern & glowing colors.
Size - 50" x 57"
Label - Chase - gold embroidery on black fabric
Fabric - wool
The blanket has a pattern of a large diagonal stripe in the center w/3 huge , feathery leaves. Gold, brown & gray borders, central background is a green & black diamond pattern. The blanket has 8" wide borders. They have a magenta background w/ a pattern of 4 cream flowers & gold leaves.
Victorians loved ornate patterns & vivid, strong colors. This carriage blanket is an excellent example of Victorian taste.
The blanket has 2 layers - the colorful top layer & a solid black backing.
Condition - overall very good. However, there is 1 small, small hole in the middle & a small rip along 1 edge. Otherwise very good.
