This is a very stylish art deco silver  cigarette or  cheroot  finger holder which measures 3 inches long x 3/4 inch wide ( across the finger ring)  and it weighs 2.9 grams.  This silver cigarette finger holder was made in 1935 by the Birmingham silversmith William Manton and on the rim of the finger holder you can see the British silver hallmarks for Birmingham; the date letter "L" for 1935 together with the silversmith's initials "WM" for William Manton. Finger cigarette holders  were used in the 1930's as a stylish  fashion accessory and to keep the hands free when smoking.  It operates by sliding the small circular ring on the handle up and down to open the end grips to hold the cigarette in place.  The condition is good with no splits, cracks, dents,  "dings", damage or restoration to be found. This stylish art deco silver cigarette or cheroot holder, made in 1935 by the Birmingham silversmith William Manton, would make an ideal gift or a great addition to any collection.
