Up for auction a vintage 1949 Replogle 10" glass lighted Library World Globe with its original atlas.  The coated paper gores are over glass ~ it is wired for electricity and is lighted from within.  There is a time dial at the North Pole and the oceans are a wonderful green color.  There is a very sturdy brass plated cast metal meridian (which shows age and some rust) which sits on top of a metal base that has a slot for its world atlas.  The globe itself is very detailed.  Pre-Korean war with Korea still united and Indo China is no longer French. The atlas except for the issues stated in the condition description is in very good condition.  It has been covered in plastic. Please review all the photos because they represent the description and what you are buying.  Also check out my other globes (and unique globe items) that I have listed separately.

  • Condition: . . . globe is definitely not perfect; however, take a look at the photos. It has great color whether the light is on or not. You can see some separation of the paper over the glass when the light is on. Atlas shows age with yellowing of the end pages. A front page may be missing and there is a crayon type mark across the top of page #3. A small tear on the last page. Top and bottom of the binding is definitely scuffed; otherwise no other writing or abuse
