Offered here is a - VINTAGE Anchor-Hocking FIRE-KING - 1940s+ - Restaurant-ware - Heavy-Jadite-Glass, Serving-Platter - in EXCELLENT, Gently-Well-USED Condition. This piece is MARKED - dating it to the 1950's.ALL glass surfaces are shiny and clean. This soft-green-coloured milk-glass Serving-Platter has NO chips, cracks, nor flea-bites; NO stains - there are some rubs and scratches; there is milk-glass hazing (likely from manufacture) and some wash haziness; some visible glass inclusions.This Serving-Platter is HEAVY - the base is thick and weighted. The molded design pattern - is plain and simple - typical for much Restaurant-ware. The upper-surface form is oval, with a wide rim - which flares up and outwards - beaded beneath the outer edge. The under-surface is stepped as the form tapers in and down from the beaded edge to the base, which is slightly recessed. The center of the base is embossed - "OVEN; MADE IN USA; Fire-King; 1; WARE" - dating this specific piece to the 1950's. This Serving Platter measures - 11 1/2" x 8" across the upper edge; the rim is ~ 1 5/8" in width; 1" in height; 8 1/4" x 4 7/8" across the base seat rim.SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION –Anchor-Hocking -The stylized "H-over-Anchor" - introduced in 1937 - was phased-out for the "Boxed-Anchor" by 1977 - the new logo began to appear in 1968 - BUT - it took a while for all molds to be replaced with the new embossing.Jadeite OR Jadite - Jadeite OR Jadite - is the name given to the soft-green-coloured, milk-glass produced by many makers of good quality vintage/retro/contemporary glass - including Jeannette, McKee and Anchor-Hocking and many more .....Jadite products was made by Anchor-Hocking from ~1948-67 - which included a wide range of kitchenware, bakeware, tableware, and restaurantware; available in several collectible patterns - beaded edge, wide (Colonial) and narrow (Standard) flat-band rim, scalloped-edge Swirl and plain-edge Shell, square Charm, Alice, Jane Ray and more ....SHIPPING - Able to ship from Canada (default) OR US (please contact with request OR for pricing.
