Fireman's Helmet

Offered here is a vintage Fireman's helmet from Grapeville, Pennsylvania in Westmoreland County. Purple metal helmet with leather shield: GRAPEVILLE 1 VF Co. Inside has old metal emblem with Cairns and Brother logo. Back has hook for hanging. Nice original patina on the top crest with FD logo. There is a Cairns "Sanitary cushion lining" with drawstring, ear covers and patent number 1575251 that dates it to 1926. Measures about 15" long, 11" wide, 7 1/2" high. Comes to you as found~been repainted; lining has name covered with marker. Inside edge has rubber ring that is age dried and fragile. Rest of the helmet in nice shape as shown in pictures.
